The Dance Music Hall of Fame, a not for profit organization recognizes the contribution of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution and development of dance music. The Dance Music Hall of Fame Induction Awards recognizes deserving pioneers and serves as a celebration of dance music history and its significance to American and International culture. Catherine R. Laporte, The Dance Music Hall of Fame Executive Director states, “Dance Music in the 70’s was a cultural movement. The month of events affords us a great opportunity to recognize our greats and to celebrate fantastic memories! The Board of Directors and Advisors are thrilled that we have found such a deserving group of creative dance music pioneers. We look forward to learning who the Inductee’s will be and, certainly all who are nominated are worthy. We also are pleased to announce that we have opened the Induction night attendance to both the music trade industry and to the general public. Ticket info will be released in the coming weeks. We make it a little easier by allowing voters to pick:

3 Artists
5 Records
3 DJ's
3 Producers
but still only 1 remixer.

The remixer category will grow over the years.

We are thinking about adding a category for the Broadcast Industry. That way people that had a real effect on getting this music heard by the masses can be recoginized as well. People like Frankie Crocker, Paco, Joe Causi, Al Bandero, etc. What does everyone think of that? And if you think it's a good idea, let's hear some of your choices. Remember this is an International Hall of Fame, so your choices can be from anywhere.

1.Artists:Chaka Khan, The Trammps and The Salsoul Orchestra
2.Records: Diana Ross' "Love Hangover"
Donna Summer's "Love To Love You Baby"
The Trammps' "Disco Inferno"
Michael Jackson: "Don't Stop Till' You Get Enough"
Andrea True Connection: "More, More, More"
3.Producers: Quincy Jones,Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff, Alec R. Costandinos
4.Remixer: François Kevorkian
5.DJ:Sorry, I'll have to pass coz' I didn't see or hear them play in real life so it's difficult to choose and it would not be fair.
6.Site-publisher: Bernard Lopez!
