That's very interesting; bet she's kicking herself now!

I recently had a thread about Atlantic Starr......I bought a CD compilation," Best of Atlantic Starr", for $1.99 :D :D :D lucky me!

I have to say Detroit slipped on this on back in the day. They didn't get much radio play here...Why I'm not sure.

I feeling, "Circles" .......driving around the City :D
I must say, My favorites are the slow jams.

"Closer"
"Am I dreaming"

Just out of curiosity discofresh....do you know where Atlantic Starr is from.....?

I played A.S's "Ultimate Collection" recently and agree that they had some good stuff...

Personal fave: the 12 " mix of Silver Shadow

I'd also like to mention One Lover At A Time & an LP ballad ...All In The Name Of Love that I once used on one of my mushy ballad tapes!!!

I remember "Let's Rock"! Great disco song way before we really knew who they were. I really didn't care for much else they did except some of the love ballads like 1983s 4-leaf Clover. A great song to "bop" to.

I always liked "Armed and Dangerous" from one of those Eighties' soundtracks. Unfortunately, I have never seen it on CD.

Funnily enough I've just started listening to them again having got a couple of CD's. Fave tracks are Love me down & One lover at a time also let the sun in and of course circles. Does anyone remember the great 12" of let the sun in which was about 10mins long, and also how different the 12" of One lover at a time was.

Default Change of heart

Well sampling 80's ballads and various cutz is the latest trend in the commercial dance/house industry

So I have a few questions wanted to revivie this topic also

Atlantic Star is like the bridge between
funk, chilling groove, RnB Bands
like SOS Band

and the more commercial pop ballad like
Boy meets Girl - waiting for a star to fall

So I am curious do you guys have any suggestion for any ballads that are quite Atlantic Starish
but with hint of the
boy meets girl- waiting for a star to fall
or
for example the one where the lyrics go
"Im so outta love, from being without you"

I was ofcourse talking about
Air Supply - All out of love

I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you
I know you were right, believing for so long
I'm all out of love, what am I without you?
I can't be too late to say that I was so wrong

YES!!!! -what a great band.
Their best is Let's Rock n Roll -12"- there is soooo much going on on that track, absolutely mesmerising ?
Apart from the title (disco sucks and all that), the tune BELTS it out !!#
If you haven't heard it get a copy TODAY. But you better have good strong bins!!!!!

You can find both Sharon Bryant's and Barbara Weather's solo albums from 89 and 90 fairly cheap. They are excellent and focus more on ballads. Top tier stuff from this era that got totally slept on.

I believe that was from the movie of the same name (which I know nothing about). I have the 12" single and there's some good Arthur Baker mixes on there.
