Hey Graham~

I was perusing the archives and found you had replied to someone here that you hadn't heard Love Deluxe's "Here Comes That Sound".

That is the song they cut away to for a "break" in Rappers Delight...the mixture of 2 songs, Good Times, and HCTS. Not much of it on there to give you a recognizable idea of that song, tho.

"Here....here comes that sound....here comes that sound again and again and again and again......"

By the way...really have enjoyed your posts here. You sound very learned about the genre of disco. I came across one yesterday where you mentioned a bear run. Quite a funny thread!

Oh, I know Love Deluxe. It was Seventh Avenue's "Miami Heat Wave" which I hadn't heard four years ago when I wrote that. I've since picked up the LP, although I presume that the 12" version is a lot longer, since the version I have is only about 5 minutes long.

The 12" version is about 8 or 9 minutes long. It features a long instrumental section before the vocals come in. It's the only song I can stand from that group.

My 12" of Groovin' You from Harvey Mason skips halfway through the end and keeps looping forever on the same riff.

Only a flick on the tonearm takes it off.

Does it qualify it for the longest disco song?

Nah! I guess it becomes the longest disco song ever played.

I wasn't around in 69' let alone in the proto-disco years, so I don't know if "Disco" DJ's played this. I could see it though.....

Rare Earth-Get Ready 21:30

Unlike some other songs with re-edits or whole different movements it's actually one concise song with a looooooooooooooooooooooongggg break.

A surprisingly great album btw., haven´t heard it before
despite its birth date of 1979.
Oh yeah, Meco Monardo had a few. I think, but not sure, he started this craze in the 70s with a Carol Douglas album, or was it Tom Moulton?

Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk
Encounters of Every Kind
Wizard of Oz
Themes from Superman
Big Band Medley
Pop Goes the Movies Part 1 (was there a part 2?)

Others I remember....(~ = approximately)

Captain Sky - Super Sporm - ~12:03
James Wells - True Love is My Destiny - ~12:43
Cerrone - Cerrone's Paradise - ~16:38
Donna Summer - Love to Love You Baby - ~16:49
Santa Esmeralda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - ~16:13
Martin Circus - Disco Circus - ~14:23
Parliament Funkadelic - Not Just Knee Deep - ~15:20
The Bucketheads - The Bomb - ~14:51 (although it was released in 1995)
Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five - SuperRappin' - ~12:03
DD Sound - Cafe Cafe - ~17:35
Jimmy Spicer - Adventures of Super Rhymes - ~14:23
Patrick Juvet - I Love America - ~13:59

Prelude Records had three mastermixxes from New York's 98.7 KISS FM, respectively at 13:01, 11:22 and 13:49.

Wow this is fun!
