Anyone in New York: head to Sheridan Square on Tuesday nights to dance to the sounds of Frankii De Luxe downstais at The Monster! Total delirium with Pattie Brooks, Cerrone, Giorgio and co. No funk, not too many Salsoul classics good as they are, just fast and furious pure disco for all kinds of dancers, straights, gays, hustle experts twirling around madly, fat slobs wobbling about, wannabe supermodels posing, yoga house potheads levitating, young folks mixing with folks of a certain age, and those finally happy in the knowledge that there indeed is more to the former clubbing capital of the universe than nights presided over "Legendary" dj names playing the same "Gallery classics" over and over again. Frankii de Luxe is the best dj I have heard since they threw me out of the Ice Palace in 1979.
