Are you looking for artists who used specifically Moog synth, or just synths in general? Few non-musicians can tell the difference between an ARP and a Moog...

Most of the jazz fusion artists of the '70s spring to mind: Herbie Hancock, George Duke, Lonnie Liston Smith.

Actually, Herbie was bigger on ARP, wasn't he? Headhunters is mostly ARP 2600/Odyssey to my ears.

My choices:
Crown Heights Affair "Dreaming A Dream"
Slick "Space Bass"
Tuxedo Junction "Volga Boatman"
:)

:P
Not according to my copies of his albums: On his Secrets LP (1976) he used a Micro Moog among other synths...On Magic Windows (1981) he used a Waves Mini Moog, and Mini Moog. This is also the case on his 1980 classic Mr Hands. During the fallow years of jazz music when it wasn't selling records, and disco ruled, many jazz musicians such as Herbie paid their bills by appearing on other people's albums. You can check him out on Phyllis Hyman's Somewhere in My Lifetime LP (1977) among others. Quite a few jazz artists had to swallow their pride, and jump on the disco bandwagon.

I think that the ARP Odyseey was largely used over the Moog in the jazz funk scene. Not just Hancock but also many Philly and disco acts used it (Dexter Wansel, Raydio to name just two)

Didn't Billy Preston use a Moog on his hit "Space Race"?
