Default WHAT DISCO SONG WOULD YOU ERASE FOREVER?

Everyone has at least one song that they absolutely, positively, irrevocably HATE. The one that makes you cringe, make gagging motions and forces you to change the radio dial.

If there was one song you could forever erase from the history of disco music, what would it be?

Mine is DOUBLE DUTCH BUS by Frankie Smith. Oh my, how it makes my skin crawl...

OOPs-I do like all these records  My condition of hate started after the discoperiod. Definitely Bronski Beat!

But to play the game: KELLY MARIE-She sucks (I mean in a musical kinda way) I can't stand her voice. It makes me maaaaaaad! And I do like Silver Convention but NOT the Penny McLean Solorubbish (sorry Marky)

I'll go with Disco Duck. I was given a copy to play in the 1970s, but refused to play it after hearing it one time. Why someone would give a disco deejay (me) a silly disco parody to play was beyond me at the time, and still is.

I absolutely would love to erase the Bob Seeger song that is anti-disco...."Just give me some old time rock-n-roll" or whatever the title is of that song. He sings in it "don't take me to a disco" or something like that.

Ten minutes of Seeger and I would be late for the door.

Easy one for me: "Is It All Over My Face" - Loose Joints. Still crap. Always was crap. Will always be crap. Female vocal horrendous. Male vocal gut wrenching.

There is not a drug in the world that could make this song sound good to me once these people start --- forgive me --- singing.

Default Oh, dear - a matter of taste... poor taste.

I'll begin with optimism. What's the big deal about "In The Bush?" I was very surprised to see that. "Ring My Bell," being a kissing cousin, was a piece of garbage.

It's just my opinion -- but what ruined my beloved movie (see other recent thread) "Saturday Night Fever" was the peculiar choice of the Bee-Gees to do a lot of the soundtrack. Beside "You Should Be Dancing," none of the other tunes merit disco notoriety. They sold like hotcakes -- but pardon the pun, they weren't my cup of tea.

I just can't believe that nobody came up with the post-disco hit that flooded the airwaves not only with bad music but also endless sarcasm from mystified radio dee-jays. It's now a 50th birthday or wedding staple: THE MACARENA.

[As Glinda the Good Witch] Macarena, be gone! Before somebody drops a house on you!

Amen! Glad to see someone else hates this song as much as me...I remember getting the 12 inch of this back in the day without hearing it, just because it was on West End. Man, was that a mistake!
