The latest one I got isn't disco at all.

Regina Bell - "Lazy Afternoon" is primarily a jazz set but it's a great return to form for Miss Belle.

What's the story with this K-Maro dude. He's number one in Belgium too and, honestly, he ain't that good! It's an average rapper and the French language isn't suited for hip-hop IMHO.

I'm afraid a lot of youngsters wouldn't recognize a good SONG even if it was slammed into their ears. 99% of the charts nowadays consists of the same humbug. Prefab R 'n B and Hip-Hop. We need a revolution...NOW!!!

Actually, I like K-Maro (FYI, for those who don't know, it's pronounced "Camaro" like the car). I thought "Femme Like U" and "Crazy" were catchy tunes. Now, I'm NOT a hip-hop or rap fan so this has to be pretty mellow stuff for me to like it.

His real name is Cyril Kamar, born in Lebanon in 1980. He lived in Paris for a while, then moved to Montreal in 1995 where he got hooked on American R&B. He was first in a *very* local group called "Les Messagers Du Son" (The Sound Messengers) that somehow managed to get airplay. He later struck out on his own.

You are right about the kids today. I was watching TV the other day when this 14 year-old named Jo-Jo came on and "sang". Just like any song put out by Usher (i.e., have you tried to hum an Usher song? You can't. It has no melody.), this one also had no discernible melody or hook. Just a lot of typical American Idol wailing and warbling over a minimalist hip-hop beat. Tragic what they call music nowadays.

Check out their earlier release that was repackaged and re-released last year too - it has a reworking of Southern Freeze by Freeez.
