Hi, This may be a little off-topic here, but still, perhaps someone can help... I know a band that has recorded a hot disco-funk track - all live, with a string orchestra, brass section, percussion, etc. Somewhat Chic-sounding, and quite well-produced. However, they haven't found a label in their home country - Russia (!) - that would be interested in releasing it. I'm really looking forward for this track to find public, and I'm sure many of you would like it. You can have a listen to an mp3 excerpt over here: http://eegee.chat.ru/btexcerpt.mp3 Can anyone give a hint as to where they could send the song to? Any label contacts? I just don't have any idea as to what labels are interested in LIVE disco music nowadays, though I'm sure they ARE there somewhere. Thanks a lot for any help!

That track has some value. I wish I knew what it meant. It's the FIRST Russian disco song I've ever heard. I've heard plenty of Russian techno, but no Russian disco. But I heard that Georgian disco track that was mentioned here a while ago, as well as Hebrew disco tracks. It would be a stretch to approach the record labels in Georgia and Israel that released disco songs this decade, but since there are Russian speakers in both places perhaps it's worth an inquiry? Due to the language barrier I don't think Western labels will want to release a Russian song, unfortunately. You can research the following pages to investigate the record labels that are putting out disco songs around the world in this decade, including for those Georgian and Israeli songs: http://www.discosavvy.com/disco00s.html http://www.discosavvy.com/discomid00s.html There are really many releases and labels.

I'm from Georgia and want to say, that here is not a good situation to release any kind of music for profit. Piracy is high, local "labels" mostly are small rooms featuring some cheap PC with decent soundcard and yamaha PSR keyboard. Popular Georgian musicans usually record their songs in Russia or other foreign countries. And average "hit song" sale is about 1000 CD and 3000 Cassete. So.......

No, lyrics are quite "classical" for disco music, like "dancing all night long, move your body, can't wait for dance, tonight we gonna dance together", etc. I think that this is good quality plain disco track, and I don't see any innovations here....
