Hey guys,
unfortunately I have not been reading the forum long enough to understand if there is something behind this.

I cannot make my long list of hypothetical reasons lol.

I really really hope that we can all discuss this and clear the air because i think this is a great forum with so many people who have a vaste knowledge and I am honored to be in such a company.

Like I said before, I think, I can try and imagine what I would feel like if someone said untrue things of a friend of mine, but my further explanations show what my reasons were and what I meant.

I have to say Stephen still reacted reasonably considering his position, and did not loose much temper (but then again I don't know him, I hope I will get an idea in the near future) because at least he didnt insult anyone.

I honestly considered not posting anymore or running away lol, but after a lot of thinking, I decided to face this and try to explain and see where we went wrong. The alternative was too much of a loss, I like this forum and you guys.

(It was an abnormal point of view, to say the least.)

And yesterday was Gay Pride Day.

I am glad that Westwood didn't walk away. And while I (and maybe you too) don't want to get inbetween, I hope what I said would help calm down the tone. I feel the same for what you said and for what Westwood said.

I like Stephen's knowledge and point of view. And his, along with Graham Start, are usually very well put. My other favorite was MixMachine, but he chose to leave. But there are also a lot of other great contributors here to.

I always think of discomusic.com as a fan-based website that includes purists, novices and those inbetween. But does everyone else see it that way?

The world of dance DJ's is a male dominated world, full of Discwasher and testosterone. And it is true on this website. I don't say that looking for blame or fault. Just a fact that sometimes adds to the bullying that flares up here.

No one person has all the pieces of the puzzle. But the more we all add, the clearer the picture is.

As I said before, for me, the worst part of disco is when the lights come on.

Oddly enough, it's also the worst part of sex.

Love to love you baby,
love to love you baby,
love to love you baby,
love to love

PS I just read your message Stephen. I guess I was typing while you were posting. Hope I'm not making anymore of it either.
I respect many members on the site you being one.. and know that you guys have much Knowledge and insight as well.."never understood the Testosterone factor"..But it does come into play so it would seem..
I am very saddened that Stephen has left DiscoMusic.com and SO glad I made such a wonderful, devoted friend in him and will miss his spot on insight here..but we all have to do what we feel is right for us .BTW I almost fainted off the I Feel Love comment as well"BUT" it is freedom speech..

What do you mean he's left??? Are you serious? He left because of this??
Please tell me it's not true, and also, his profile is still there, maybe he just wants to get some fresh air?
Do people leave that often here?

....incredible statement...so damn true!

I remember a few years back, a guy who really enjoyed my work as a dj stopped by for the first time with a friend of mine....so he met me outside of that club environment. You could tell by the way his eyes were darting all around my home that he was seeing what was behind the curtain!

Only if you actually took the time to turn the lights out!

He texted me and told me he left the site.. and I see he did it with CLASS..No need for you to feel bad ,It was his choice..any other info should be asked of Stephen, not myself...even though I speak to him it's not my place to or my way to speak about my friends business in their absence.

This is a very sad day for me. I will miss his expertise, pertinent posts and his overall knowledge of music. As someone who has been there and lived it from the inside...It is a great loss for this forum.

Logging off.

All forum members,

I've only been a fellow member for a month or so, and the vast knowledge and sharing of ideas/opinions (both respected AND idiotic) is what makes this forum so special to me -- an honest DISCUSSION of ideas, topics and opinions.

That said . . . none of us are perfect; therefore, none of us communicate 100% well and/or politically correct --- however, that doesn't mean we can't continue to aim to

This forum is a place to post your opinion/topic, and other members can either (1) choose to remain silent on that opinion/topic or (2) reply back with their own opinion. There's always a choice to be had, and those choices need to be respected. Let your inner dj now cue up Faith, Hope & Charity's "To Each His Own" (1975).

. . .and my own opinion to this brouhaha that seems to have exploded over the weekend, is . . .deep breaths everyone, check tempers at the door, and let the discussions (on disco topics we individually love or hate) continue on . . . . Peace to all from da Big Easy !

I'm very surprised this has blown up in such a volatile way! I had no idea all this had happened while I was sleeping!

Rumors are insidious....they never totally die...once you feel the air has been cleared and the TRUTH is out there....someone new brings "the rumor" up again.

We've debated the Donna Summer thing many times before..."What Donna Said"....has always come up over and over....the conclusion has always been that she got a bad rap...but then someone brings it up again and the beat goes on and on and on....

The only remedy is to attempt to present the facts and verify what really happened. But once that is done, don't expect that "the rumor" will not resurface again. It's just human nature...you can't ever kill these damn things. Have ya heard that Obama is a "secret Muslim"....???? They've got that one goin' round over the "internets" so that 10% of Americans believe it.

But to leave over this, seems rash and something that hopefully will be reconsidered when the cooling off period has taken place. Let the healing begin.

Love Is The Healer is one of my absolute Donna favorites, it is so powerful! I treasure my cd single, and I bought all the promo 12" I could find with all versions, however I think the Kupper and Thunderpuss ones are the best.

Day, I will send you a PM to Stephen if you can pass it along. Thank you

Hehe, well you know, I have to give it to Ben Liebrand, after all the bashing he's getting for his last instalment in the Grand 12 inches by some users, he never lost it. Is it Quinny who's the most direct with him? ;))
I was just thinking of this yesterday...
