Default Question on Yvonne Elliman's "Love Pains"

Maybe someone can shed some light on the following:
Yvonne Elliman recorded "Love Pains" on RSO in 1979. Later, Moby Dick Records of San Francisco also released it on Moby Dick Records in the early 80s. After reading Tribal Rites, Moby Dick was in such financial difficulties could it be that's why they would they release their version? I wonder if they received the rights from RSO to release it? Apparently, none of the artists were receiving royalties from their recordings. Moby Dick was putting it back into other artists who where flops. Boys Town Gang must have made out though. I was glad to get the RSO promotional version on the Taragon release of the Best of Yvonne Elliman since it's hard to find.
Thanks

I can't imagine Moby Dick doing something as crazy as not to license the rights beforehand.

Here are the two pressings:

Bernie: I notice that the RSO is shorter and clocks in @ 118/119 BPM according to the label. Is this a misprint or was the version that much different to the 124 BPM Moby Dick one? Don't think I ever heard the RSO release.

Quinny,
The Moby Dick release has a special DJ edit on the A side hence the longer play time and difference in BPM. The flipside contains the original RSO version.
