Default Need info on the group "People Like Us"

Hello, there:

Back in 84 or 85 (I think) a group by the name of "People Like Us" had a major club hit called "Midnight Lovers" and another hit called "Reincarnation".

I have been trying forever to know a little bit of them. Where were they from? Did they have any other hits after that? Who were the members of the group?

Thanks for the info !!

Carlos

From what I recall they were Dutch.

On my "Deliverance" 12" single a Cindy Disckinson is listed as doing the vocals.

They were part of Passion Records' string of Hi-NRG acts in the mid 80's.

Their record company released a CD just called "people like us". Hard to find it, but I had luck in GEMM. The songs:

1. Resurrection
2. Heart in the night
3. Deliverance
4. Fight for you
5. Hiroshima
6. Love will survive
7. Two to tango
8. Midnight lover
9. Prayer for you

1,2,4,7 and 9 featuring Angie Gold
3,5,6 and 8 featuring Cindy Dickenson

Some of this songs were included in the Passion Hi-NRG sets (3 volumes of 4 CD's each). Unfortunately they are no longer available.

Try Klone Records and some Hot Productions compilations for similar artists, including Astaire.

Hope this helps

Surprise Surprise, they were South African.

Started in SA as Cindycate, relocated to the UK as People like us due to South African artists not being able to break it because of sanctions etc.
