Default Giorgio Moroder - From Here To Eternity 2004 CD remaster

I just thought I'd give everyone a little heads up..

Apparently Hip-O Select/Universal just did a 5000 copy limited edition remaster of "From Here To Eternity".. It seems like a very basic reissue, no bonus tracks, but it's remastered and from a major label, so I'm assuming it's pretty high quality.. I have the Repertoire records reissue and it has a big fat drop-out in the middle of track #1, which is real distracting :-? So I'll probably end up buying this one eventually...

here's a link for more info:

BTW I'm really impressed with this Hip-O select concept.. They have a forum where fans can suggest future reissues.. It gives fans an opportunity to tell the labels what they want.. It also gives the labels an outlet to reissue albums that probably aren't viable for a general re-release.. So for us disco fans, there's probably still hope that some of those favorite, forgotten disco albums could still get a proper reissue treatment

The Repertoire issue is also HEAVILY compressed, so I'm hoping that this one fares a little better in that regard.

Hey guys, I don't know what's happening over there but I have the 1999 release of FHTE on Repertoire and it's excellent. No compression, no drop out.

Maybe you have another pressing and I'm lucky.

I seem to have to agree with Videoskooter, mine is the best damn master I ever heard of a disco reissue. No over compressing or nothin. The way the others talk it seems like they are talkin bout a hot productions vinyl transfer issue if they were to have done one LOL. But mine is the same as video's..solid and perfect!

Although I haven't heard it, I'll definitely go by Graham's assertion that it's heavily compressed as this is a subject near and dear to him.
