Nice article, Marcio. Those guys were terrific and Donna's voice is a thing of wonder and beauty. I just recently found some of her earlier records (pre-"Love2LUBaby") on an import greatest hits collection: among them "Lady of the Night" and the silly melodramatic "The Hostage"; they are very minor records--BUT her voice was already there--strong and pure.

Thanks for posting that article!

I thought Pete had dropped off the face of the earth or something.. It's nice to know he's alive and well and enjoying his accolades.. I don't think he gets enough credit these days - nothing against Giorgio, but he seems to get all the credit now, when really most of those Donna Summer productions have just as much to do with Pete as well, especially as far as the acoustic elements are concerned.. Listening to some of his solo productions you can hear more or less where his input came in..

It's interesting to point out that when the credits in Donna's albums started to open up (with Donna having credit for her own songs, or Giorgio and Pete teaming with other guys), Bellotte's name was there in almost all the best tracks (at least to my liking). I checked this in both "Bad Girls" and "The Wanderer" albums.
Also he did some interesting tracks with his side project Trax, which needs a CD reissue.

Trax did that awful version of Long Train Running amongst other things , eh? If all their stuff's like that, I'd rather forget 'em.

"Crusader" rules! That still has to be one of my faves, and it was released amidst a lot of other good product (Spring '78) and still stands out.

Absolutely, Dear Goddess! I also love "Crusader". And there's another track on that LP ("Dancing in the street") that it's a killer: "Baby what's your number". Absolutely great.

Quinny: well, obviously we're on different patterns on music taste. I like Trax and you like Cheryl Lynn... :P But hell, vive la difference!
