Default Did Donna Summer release any studio albums in 1978?

Hi all. I've collected a number of Donna Summer albums from 1975 to 1980 and I notice that whilst Donna Summer released some real monster hit disco songs in 1978 such as "Hot Stuff", "Last Dance", "Heaven Knows" and "With Your Love", I've not yet come across a standard studio album of hers from that year with new songs on it. Though she did a "Live & More" album with old and new songs on it and there would of been 12"s of her big hits.

Did Donna do any studio albums in 1978 with those hitsongs plus a few more songs to fill about 30 to 40 minutes to put on a rekkerd?

1978 showed no releases for her as a single LP. There was the "Thank God Its Friday" soundtrack LP which had "With Your Love", "Last Dance" and "Take It To The Zoo" which was under the name Sunshine (basicly its a few guys from Brooklyn Dreams and her on vocals that make up Sunshine). "Hot Stuff" wasnt till 1979 though off the Bad Girls LP. But no releases other than the TGIF LP and Live And More for 78

I thought that Sunshine was Donna's sisters? I think that there is an unreleased album by Sunshine in the vaults...

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

No was not Donna's sisters, where on earth did ya hear that? Actualy if you got a copy of the TGIF LP and ya look close at the credits you can see Donna and Joe Esposito's name on it as well. It was produced by the guy who did Wright Bros Flying Machine I belive if I remember right. Havent pulled out my LP in ages cause I got the CD.

I also remember reading something back in the day that Sunshine was indeed Donna's sisters - I believe their last name was Gaines.

That is very interesting, this is something that needs to be researched for sure. Cause that is Donna's real last name (or was before she married Bruce whats his face). But it is Donna on lead vocals on that track..that much is for sure and confirmed.
