Default Medleys

A medley is not creative, but I found five good medleys :)

1-Ritchie Family - "The Best Disco in Town"
2-Shalamar - "Uptown Festival"
3-Boys Town Gang - "Dance Trance Medley"
4-Theo Vaness - "Back to Music"
5-Pattie Brooks - "Pop Collage Medley"

Listen to the medleys if you can do it

Or the "American Dream Medley" by Hot Posse (i.e. Patrick Cowley). Ignore the vocal version where the girls chant, "My posse is hot!"

Of course, the best medleys were bootlegs. I mean the white label mixes of disco and rock songs made by DJs at the time, like "Bits & Pieces III: Let's do it" (later remade "legally" by Stars on 45) and "Sportswear for the flasher".
I have one on tape made exclusively of rock songs, that still sounds pretty good (it was amazing at the time). Plenty of tracks (Creedence, Link Wray, Hollies, Supertramp, Dire Straits, even the "Batman" theme) with a steady backbeat provided by the anonymous DJ.
One that got legally reissued recently was "Adventures in the wheels of steel" by Grandmaster Flash.

Now that is an interesting track listing!

My problem with Shalamar's "Uptown Festival" is the abrupt ending after they sing "Always Saying Something". It just kills the song entirely.

One of the best "legal" medleys was "Intro Disco (put your money in the juke-box)" from Discothèque.
