Default Disco in Funky Cops

The flashily animated French tv series Funky Cops is a mix of blaxploitation and Starsky&Hutch and it is a must-see. Detectives Warchowski and Anderson work in the San Francisco of the 70's. Each investigation begins at the Boogie Palace disco, situated right next to the Car Wash. After dance displays and massive cocktails with the ladies they rush outside for car chases, shootouts and martial arts fights. Though in my country this is an early Saturday morning show the guns are big and there's blood shown during the kung fu. The music is good, both original hits from the likes of Peaches&Herb and funky facsimiles by Dj Abdel. Tv's got into le groove, check it out.

DJ Abdel is also known for his excellent mixalbums where he mixes vintage funk with some grooves of his own and they are released under the name "DJ Abdel à l'ancienne"

There's also an excellent "Funky cops" mixalbum.
