Default dallas cowboys cheerleaders question

i caught this movie on TRIO this afternoon. i had never seen the entire movie before. i noticed a few things while watching it and have a few questions about the music.

was this movie released as a motion picture or just for television? did this movie have a soundtrack album?

several of the songs they used were studio singers instead of the actual artists. (linda clifford, donna summer)
did they not use the actual artist's music because of budget reasons? would that have been too expensive?

i also noticed they used a few instrumentals i never knew existed on vinyl. did they use studio musicians to recreate them or did they use some kind of "DJ ONLY" instrumental compilation vinyl?

during the movie there were certain scenes where the music would turn on and off at the drop of a needle from an actual turntable in the room. was this just an illusion created to simulate random records being played or were they actually using special vinyl pressed for use in the movie?

to my knowledge the entire movie was filmed in Dallas at real life locations. the disco/club in the movie seemed kind of lame by New York City standards but it did seem to genuinely capture Texas nightlife during that time period.
anyone in here from Texas care to comment?

here is a photo i found on the internet. apparently the movie was made for television so i doubt that there was a soundtrack album for it.

Those babes were HOT.I see some familiar faces among those babes.Never seen this movie, maybe because it was only for USA television...I like to watch 70s movies or movies that recreate the 70s...For me,one of the best decades for fashion and music (alongside with the early 80s).

Thank you for placing this BIG photo :D

I never heard of it, I only know "Debbie does Dallas" but that's a more philosophical movie.

The movie apparantly is from 1979 (TV-only) and features Jane Seymour and there's no soundtrack available
