Hi,

Amir Bayyan is the adopted muslim name of ROBERT "KOOL" BELL, bass player and founding member of KOOL AND THE GANG with his brother, RONALD "KOOL" BELL [a/k/a KHALIS BAYYAN]. To check his musical history, just do a research about KOOL AND THE GANG, one of the most important... you know the rest :D

zeca azevedo, a/k/a aziz bayyan

I used to think "Bayyan Internationale" were Kool & Co., but it's Amir & Royal, as opposed to Amir and Khalis (Kool and his bro.) so I'm not sure (no similarity in sound or style to Kool, either).

They had a great run between '81 and '83, whoever they were - Gunchback Boogie Band, Majik, The aforementioned Tomorrow's Edition, Candela, Raymond Harris and some lesser known projects.

i love the 12"s by every act you mention except i don't remember raymond harris at all - was his stuff like the others? if i'm gonna take a chance on one title, what should it be?

Well, '60/40' love wasn't so good (it's a little later than the others).

'Under Your Spell' was kinda OK, in a sub-Conquest way. I've just looked in my Atlantic section and it's not there, so I evidently sold it some time ago. Now I wouldn't mind hearing it again.

There's another called 'You're The One For Me' (1983), which I've neither heard, nor seen. I've always been on the look out for it and I reckon it's probably 'the one'.
