Default ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #3 - B.T. EXPRESS

One of the early disco pioneer self contained groups of disco era.

Some Fast Facts: Their earliest songs were produced by RANDY MULLER from BRASS CONSTRUCTION ( :P to K-bee)

R&B Disco group from Brooklyn, New York. Earlier known as Brooklyn Trucking Express. Core members: Barbara Joyce Lomas (vocals) Brothers Louie (vocals, bass) and Bill (sax) Risbrook, Richard Thompson (guitar), Carlos Ward (flute) and Dennis Rowe (congas). Keyboardist Michael Jones, who was with the group from 1976-1979, later recorded as Kashif.

First Charted LP on 11/28/74.
7 Total with the last one in '82.

Because I'm gonna be extremely busy this weekend with little time to add an artist, I thought i'd leave you with a good one to list your favorite songs

EXPRESS for me is timeless!!! over the last several years (with a break in the last few months) I think i've played this song at least 1000 times... :o I can't seem to get enough of it. I just love it... full on top shelf.
I listed it as my favorite disco song of all time probably cause I played it so much during the last few years and never tired of it.

Do You Like It is one of those cool LP cuts Do It ('Til You're Satisfied) although their biggest chart hit is just average.... Give Up The Funk (Let's Dance), Give It What You Got pretty much round out my favorites.

Yeah, Express was much better than Do it 'til You're Satisfied, but ........... I can't stand 'em nowadays. I never thought I'd ever be saying that back in 1975, 'cos I played both the above tracks (and more) until they were nearly worn out.

B.T. Express? Good? Far beyond that!

I think "Do it..." was one of the first in an excellent series.

My faves are:- Here comes the express
- Do it...
- Once you get it
- If it don't turn you on
- All you got to do

Heavy sound, enchanting violins and simply timeless.

(Are they still in the biz?)

Yes I do efunk. Doing the bump to Do it... was perfect. That dance seemed like it got old real quick though, at least so far as looking cool goes. I hope I didn't embarrass myself the last time I publicly did it
