Every Memorial Day weekend, KISS.FM dust off their crates and play the best disco/funk classics of all time. They played a song that I haven't heard in about 15 years or more damn I don't even remember the name of it. Anyway other than the radio here is what I've been listening to:

1.Spring Rain - Silvetti
2.Another Star - Stevie Wonder
3.Love In C-Minor/Supernature - Cerrone
4.Now That We Found Love - Third World
5.Dyin' To Be Dancin' - Empress
6.Law & Order - Love Committee
7.Beautiful Bend/Boris Midney
8.Chic Cheer/I Want Your Love - Chic
9.Smarty Pants/Armed & Extremely Dangerous/Dr. Love - First Choice
10.From Here To Eternity/Utopia/The Chase - Giorgio Moroder
11.Quiet Village/Brazil/Arabian Nights - The Ritchie Family
12.Love Hangover - Diana Ross

Whoa! Beautiful Bend was a nice LP. Not to mention Caress - USA European Connection.

Maybe I can pass you along my mastermixes from the KTU Studio 54 Clubhouse Memorial Mix it Up Weekend from the past or The Jammin Party Mix Weekend before the format switch.

Holler back, HustleBaby!

My playlist is getting more diverse as I get more desperate to drown out the snot-snorting sounds of a co-worker who sits two desks away... here's what I've been up to lately:

- Tangerine Dream: Le Parc -- always one of my favourites when the weather warms up
- THP: Good To Me -- lots of interesting digital synth sounds that would have been *very* expensive to produce in 1979...
- Jāk Ki: Sun... Sun... Sun... -- because with what I paid for it, I'd *better* listen to it!
- Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue -- because I need more jazz in my life
- Yes: Close To The Edge -- because I need more overblown grandiose 70s prog-rock with ridiculous lyrics in my life... huh?

Flatbush,
Which dj mixes do you have Joe Causi or Jellybean Benitez? A few years ago when KTU brought back their disco format, I've taped as much songs as I can. But til this day, there are plenty of other hits that are hard to come by or I don't know the artist or name.
Here are some of the songs that I seek:
1.Hills of Katmandu - Tantra
2.Don't You Want My Love - Debbie Jacobs
3.Knights In White Satin (long version) - Giorgio Moroder
4.Chains - Bionic Boogie
5.Love Attack - Ferrara
6.Hijack - Herbie Mann
7.Lust - Rinder & lewis
8.Devil's Gun/We Got Our Own Thang - C.J&Co.
9.Le'Spank - Pamplemousse
10.Bourgie,Bourgie - Ashford & Simpson
11.Flight from Versailles - Grand Tour
12.Let Me Take You Dancin' - Bryan Adams
and many others....
Do you have any of these?

It's been ages since I've posted here and I've listened to lots of different disco and funk classics over the past couple of months, but here's some of what I've been listening to lately:

Paul Jabara - Honeymoon 1979
Rinder & Lewis - Willie & The Hand Jive 1979
Rinder & Lewis - Envy 1977
Lamont Dozier - Breaking Out All Over 1973
Brothers Johnson - Streetwave 1978
Billy Davis - Three Steps From True Love 1975
Vicki Sue Robinson - Hold Tight 1977
Louis Ramirez - Salsa 1975
Jermaine Jackson - Let's Be Young Tonight 1976
Salsoul Orchestra - Salsoul Hustle/Tangerine 1975
La Belle Epoque - Black Is Black 1977 (Full 14 minute version)
Hamilton Bohannon - The Happy Dance 1981

And many more.

I have both C.J&Co. tracks on 7" vinyl and Le Pamplemousse too. Not sure about Herbie Mann, I have a 12" of his Superman. Could it be on the other side? I'll dig it out tomorrow to check (it's 3.10am here in the UK).

Later
