BAD DANCE MOVES read this tonight and trying to picture this is really funny :P 'Mad' Peter Smith, tried to tell everyone when he was blathered that he could spin better than his other mate, Mally. I think it was at the Morecambe all-niter, anyhoo, Pete winds up for this big spin and basically come up with some sort of broken helicopter move and hits this big round table, full of drinks, back first and slides into the middle of it, clearing off all the drinks and stops, feet and hands in the air like a starfish. Everyone had seen him coming and jumped out of the way. When they all peered over looking at him, he just shouted 'My round then...' anyone had any dancefloor disasters..............

Hi DISCODISK, well, I can tell you this - the way I dance is a dancefloor disaster already. BTW, who on this board can say "I'm a great dancer"? Does anybody here really know how to shake his/her money maker? I wanna know! Don't go cheating on me, fellas! Peace, zeca azevedo, always doin' the funky chicken, even when I don't want to

| Well, I'm not trying to boast but I was considered a sexy dancer pre moonwalk days. At least that's what women have told me. Today, I'm just happy to move with rhythm.

| Well I use to be a great hustler(my preferred dance step back in the day). However 30lbs. heavier, 3 decades later and my clubbing days long over I'd be hard pressed to live up to my former abilities. :P

LOL Originalbigm - so you could hustle up a storm eh? I've been trying to remember the hustle steps myself - darn, it was a long time ago - trying to show my son how to hustle you know? By the way, I'm still younger than my son! Vienne

If you live in the U.S.A., especially in NY, Florida, or Cali, there are plenty of places where the hustles still moves. Try http://www.hustleusa.com/toc.html and click on dance links for some info and places to go! Enjoy. :D

I still Hustle every Friday night and Saturday night too. Still pretty good - I'm totally addicted to Hustlin' fine lookin' women around the dancefloor! :D The Hustle has changed over the years but it's still the number one couples/club dance as far as I'm concerned. Ain't as fast as I once was but I still got the moves. 8)

Well Diskodisk, I don't wanna boast either - but I was regarded as a pretty decent dancer in the Kent soul music scene!! And I was a pretty good dancer up in London town when I went to the funk and jazz clubs..... I was average  when it came to the Northern Soul stuff. I had a good sense of the beat but I was never brave enough to risk any back flips etc etc. Yeah - in answer to your question I had a couple of disasters. Liked your story very much, by the way!! Like spinning to Celi Bee or something like that in our local Tunbridge Wells soul club and knocking a pint of beer out of my most hated school enemy's hand! Years later I surprised the hell out of him by going out with his sister! In London my mate Steve and I went to a funk club at the Comedy Store in Leicester Square one night. We were the only white guys in the club - and I remember saying to Steve - best to keep a low profile. So what did Steve do? Dropped his full pint of beer right in the middle of the f***** dancefloor. Oh Shit! And there is one memorable club night I will always remember. Another mate of mine called Steve worked as a hearing aid technician at the local hospital in Tooting and he arranged for us to go to a West End funk club with a couple of girls who were deaf - and who were his patients! The girls were really fantastic dancers - picking up the beat through the vibrations from the music - way into the small hours. A humbling experience and one which I learnt a lot from. :)

I was never a good dancer, as I spent virtually all my clubbing time in a DJ booth. Why do you think I chose to be a DJ? I had to get hold of some of the action somehow, some way. However, my worst dance move was to get a "don't ever bring him back here again" type of ticking off from a local night club owner. I was 20, had long, long hair, clomping shoes, it was a wooden dancefloor, a less then busy night and I was plyed with drinks. What else d'ya need to know? FREAKOUT BABY, FFFFRRREEEAAAAKKKOUT!!!

Hey CDMack - thanks for the link - unfortunately I live in the UK now... and no matter what they say, they never quite knew how to hustle in the UK - unless of course, they were of Spanish/Latin origin. BTW - have I got it right with the moves if I do it in a - &123 tempo with the last step being a soft toe step to the side of the foot that has your weight on it? Bad description I know of what I'm trying to do. Thanks again. Vienne
