I lOOOOOOOOVE "I Don't Wanna Be A Freak (But I Can't Help Myself)" --but everytime I hear it now I think of Tall Paul's response when I asked him if he was a "buttlicker"?. (cause he kept referring to women's butts as "good eatin")

His response? The song title.

This thread has gone from rated G to R+ ... and is approaching XXX ...

Our US cousins call them Die-nasty apparently.

I loved "I've just begun...", and that sort of polished American disco was a joy to hear. But I have to agree with Videoskooter, in that Shalamar was just that bit further ahead. They along with the Whispers, really tippified that SOLAR sound. It was clean, crisp, and solid. Too bad the TV serious wasn't as good. :P

Thank you Mr. Slyvers III

My favourite Dynasty tracks were 'Satisfied', 'Its Still A Thrill' & 'I Dont Wanna Be A Freak...'. They went a bit downhill after 1980 IMO, as did Solar generally. (became less disco, more r'n'b.)

Love the title cut to "Adventures In The Land Of Music". Yeah, more r'n'b, but that string and horn stab is classic.

Angie Stone sampled it on her cut "Lover's Ghetto" from her "Stone Love" CD this year.
