Nancy Nova

Anyone recall a singer named Nancy Nova? I read about her recently in Billboard, but am not familiar with her work.

According to the article, she had some dance hits in the early 80's.

The only song I know is "The Force" a great club tune, this one falls in the 'energy' camp at 132 bpm, it has this hypnotic sound with a catchy bass line that works well with her weak vocals.

Just went on her website and listened to a clip of "The Force".

Vocals were very high pitched sort of like a Denyse Le Page sound.

Yeap, and the vocal track is laid way back in my Hansa label mixdown, I remember this song sounding much better in a loud club enviroment but last night after playing it twice on my headphones I still can't understand what she 's saying :lol:

Nancy Nova did Italian television variety shows already in 1977 and had an album out at that time too, called Akiri Non-Stop. The sound is typical '77 eurodisco with a whiff of Dr. Buzzard on tracks like Baby Come Home.
