Default Need Help From 70's D.J'S/ Re:Mighty High

Does any one out there know if there was ever a 12' version or extended play version of "Mighty High" by the Mighty Clouds Of Joy? Although a Gospel Group in the 70"s this song was a big hit in the clubs back then. The longest version I can find is 4:37.Does anyone know of a longer version and if so where I can find it?Any feedback is appreciated!!!!
Thanks

All they list at gemm are 7" versions. Of course that doesn't automatically mean that no extended versions exist, but it sure leads one to think so. Usually, Gemm never fails to list the stuff I look for (the ridicoulous pricing is another matter though  )

I've never seen a 12" on this. The lp version clocks in at 4:43.

Just remembered: This song was sampled back in '97 and released as "The Mighty High" by Revival 3000. Label is Hi Life/Polydor. Clocks in at 9:26. There's very little of the original in it except for the chorus and some scattered screaming.

This was my fav-o-rite track about '76. I could barely find the 45...had to keep special ordering it. My friends and I built a dance around it. Went to the disco to do "Our Dance" and asked the dj to play the song. He did, but to my suprise he played the LP version, that was different than the 45, and it screwed our dance all up.

Damned DJ's. LOL!

It's been bootlegged fairly recently on a 12"..I've just put a scan up this evening. The sound quality is a dull and a bit lifeless and has probably been dubbed from vinyl with seemingly no attempt to at least do SOMETHING in the way of mastering.
It seems to be the standard version I always thought there was something lacking in this track...it's so nearly great.

I'm a Philly Disco fanatic, so I've sought out anything featuring the musicians: LPs and 12"s. I looked for all of the Philly Mighty Clouds of Joy stuff, and only came up with the It's Time and Kickin' LPs. No 12" remixes from either record. I don't know if it was because they came out so early before 12"s were the norm (Kickin, which had Mighty High, was from '75). Dave Crawford, their producer for those albums, didn't put out any 12" extended mixes of stuff he produced between 73 and 75, but in 76 he did have a record under his own name and a 12" featuring extended mixes of songs from that LP.

So that's the long winded version of saying 'no'. :)
