Stevie Wonder.
I know. Not exactly disco but some of his great songs found a place at the discos. I'm going to cheat and pick two that I love that also got some play in the clubs. "You Haven't Done Nothin'" and "Do I Do" are my choices. I really love Stevies music and I'm sure if I did this 6 months from now my selections will probably change.

ANOTHER STAR works today just as well as it ever did. If you don't dance to that you ain't got no business having feet.

"I just called to say I love you"... no I am only joking. Never could stand that song, and now that I have seen it being slaughtered by half drunk Japanese businessmen in Karaoke-bars here in Japan it is DEFINITELY in the trash bin.

What I do like is "Superstition" and "Do I do".

The songs of Stevie Wonder I personally think would be good for the disco floor are:

1 - Superstition 1972
2 - Keep On Running 1972
3 - Higher Ground 1973
4 - Boogie On Reggae Woman 1974
5 - Sir Duke 1976
6 - Do I Do 1982

I love Stevie's music too Paul! As a matter of fact, one of my favorite disco songs belongs to him and that is "Another Star". This song will definetely get me on the dance floor! I also like "Do I Do".

Yeah, and really works good on the dance floor, specially the 12" version.

Peace,

"For once in my live"
"My Cherie Amour"
"overjoyed" (this is an ageless classic)
"Yester me Yester you"

and many more mentioned here!

I used to mix "part-time lover" with "Maneater" Hall & Oats it was a floor packing combo.

Stevie Wonder is a musical genius. Duh, how profound. How can you pick a favorite? Most have mentioned the songs that work on the dancefloor. Let me add a more obscure choice that I know always gets my feet movin'--Stevie's cover of "We Can Work It Out" originally by The Beatles. Even Chaka Khan covered Stevie's cover using the same arrangement.

So many beautiful ballads to choose from..."Overjoyed" and "Lately" come to mind, but I could easily list 20 more.
