Default George Duke, Queen Samantha

Would anybody know the lengths of the 12" for 'I want you for myself' (George Duke) & Give Me Action (Queen Samantha) The songs are feat. on Disco Spectrum at 6m +(I want you...), and 5m + (give me...) but the backround info is a bit confusing; it mensions a sought after 12" promo for George Duke but i'm not sure whether they mean the song on the CD, or another version and mention nothing about a 12 for Queen Sam. thanks!

Quote: "The ex-Zappa keyboardist and '70s fusion alumnus continues our disco adventure with the classy 'I Want You For Myself', from his 'Master Of The Game' album - sophisticated disco (and a Garage classic ) - the promo-only 12" on Epic has been a sought-after collectors' item in the USA, Japan & the UK, since the '80s."

Could have done with a pause or two, but other than that, I can't see what other track this note could be referring to.

The Queen Samantha 12" is the same length as the CD version. The 12" is on a subsidiary of Emergency, called Fuschia.

I've always been under the impression that the Duke isn't any longer on 12", but I neither own this nor particularly like the song - so someone else can help you there.

Default George

The track lenght of "I want you for myself" on the CD "George Duke - The collection" is 6:35 (Collector Series, Sony Music/Castle Communications UK 1991).

This is 10 seconds longer than the version included on "Disco Spectrum 2"... but if that makes it the mysterious, sought after version...??? :-?

Default "I Want You For Myself"

Sung by Lynn Davis for Duke, the 12" version is 6:27 long. A masterpiece as well...

Default Give Me Action/Queen Samantha

Paris based act, I believe, had a 12" version clocking 5:35 on Polydor France and also Rio in Canada. Please excuse if this info is a few seconds off: I'll have to dig out my vinyl to find it if it's wrong..
