| This post is not intended to preach to anyone, but rather to engage people in a discussion about a powerful film. I understand that this is not Disco or even music related, but I was so moved by this film I couldn't help myself in posting this thread. I have not been on the forum in awhile, but there used to be a thread for this type of discussion. Nonetheless, I have to tell you guys that I am in a bit of a serious state this morning. The reason is that I went to the movies last night and saw 'The Passion of The Christ'. If you guys have seen this movie, then you understand my state of mind right now. If not, let me just say that 'intense' and 'too much' are the only words I can come up with to describe this movie. Words cannot relay the feeling you get when you see this movie. I was literally moved to tears in the theatre last night and am not ashamed to admit it. Note, the tears were not solely because of the torture Jesus Christ suffered, but rather for the way we as a people, including myself foremost, live our lives. Understand that I do believe in Christ, thus my comments come from that standpoint. To think that a man could be so selfless in his acts and on top of this be so forgiving towards his enemies is unthinkable to me. Unfortunately, I have not reached that state of mind in my life where I can be so forgiving. As a matter of fact, I left the theatre somewhat angry in my emotions. To sum things up, this movie is extremely graphic and not for the weak of heart, yet it's graphic detail and nature is perfect and what is needed to tell this story and get one to take a long look at themselves. While it was difficult for me to sit through, I am happy I went to see it. I totally recommend it, if you can handle your emotions. I can to a point, but as I said, I was literally moved to tears. Now to keep this music related. I have come up with a few songs that will sum up some of what I feel this morning: El Todopoderoso (The Almighty) - Hector Lavoe Wake up everybody - Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes Don't let be misunderstood - Santa Esmerelda If any of you have comments about the movie or songs you want to add to this list, please do so. Thanks for letting me vent on such a touchy subject. Easy, Sam "ALL JAM" |

| Sammy, My first inclination was simply to delete your post as it obviosuly doesn't pertain to music. I've just returned from a visit with family in Puerto Rico to see a sick relative. I'm not in the mood to play referee or whatever this topic will bring up so I will lock it for now. I'm considering reinstating the Non-Music category in some fashion at some point so perhaps I'll move this then, but I make no promises that any of this will even happen. I have more important things to deal with right now.
