Tres Chic/ C'Est Chic confusion

I'm confused. I always thought that Chic's '78 LP was first released in the UK as 'Tres Chic' featuring a sleeve with a female model with a luminous tube between her legs ( :-? ) & the addition of 'Dance Dance Dance' & 'Everybody Dance' from their 1st LP in edited form, then Atlantic quickly changed it to 'CEst Chic' featuring classier photos of the group & with full length versions of the 2 afore-mentioned tracks. However, I recently obtained a UK copy of 'Tres Chic' thinking it might be a rarity only to see that '1979' was printed on the cover which implies that it was released after 'C'Est Chic' which surely isn't possible, is it?
Can someone please enlighten me & just as a matter of interest, what were the track listing, title & cover photos of the US or European versions of this classic LP?

I'm just as puzzled as you are at this point.. because Risque was released in '79.

Hi Steely Dan: 'Tres Chic' definitely came first, before being withdrawn to make way for 'C'est Chic'. I've no idea why this happened or what, if any, changes were made. I just remember thinking it was strange at the time. Maybe they wanted to re-activate the album and give the impression that this was something new, rather than just a re-vamp.

Yes, I think the year on 'Tres Chic' is printed incorrectly as I'm sure this came first & was rapidly withdrawn to make way for C'Est Chic. Strange, n'est pas? :-?

I think I remember reading that Bernard Edwards and Nile Rogers went mad when they found out that teh UK record label had done that because they were planning to use tres Chic as the title for their next album. I have the album although I ahven't looked at it for a long time but my recollection is that it was identical in track order as C'est Chic except that tehy added the singles on at the end
