Default Do you remember: Sing A Happy Funky Song?

Hello Again...When I was in Jr. High School, we used to like to dance to a disco song that I never hear anymore...It was called: "Sing A Happy Funky Song" by Miz Davis. This would have been early 1976. It had a real heavy base beat to it. From the opening chords to the last note of the song, we literally "ate" that record up!! I used to be the D.J. at our dances and I remember shouts of, "Play that again!" loud and clear. Since then, I have "NEVER" heard this song played again...Is there anyone out there who remembers this song? Or am I the only one? Sometimes I think I'm just getting too old...LOL...Take Care... Mario

I have this 7", it is on a yellow label with 2 quite different mixes back to back. I think it has a disco and party versions. It is a pretty rousing funky little song. A DJ friend once taped me it (probably about 20 years back), I've had for about half that time.

Do you want a copy? I think i know a UK record dealer who may still have some.

MARIO/LEATHERMAN
surprisingly this got a u.k release but what was more of a surprise it was released on elton johns label 'rocket'! i never heard it played anywhere and im sure i never even saw it reviewed,i have a promo from the time and it looks great probibly because its the only rocket record i own! as the label wer'nt famous for putting out stuff like that, couldnt have sold many at all and ive only seen one or two copies since, havnt played this for years leatherman but i think its the same format as the u.s copies.

I'm sure I read that Pete Waterman was the a & r man at Rocket at some point in the 70s & he was responsible for signing some dance-type stuff so maybe he was behind this one being on Rocket.
