Yesterday while browsing in a record store, I came across a cd by a duo named cc: Diva. It featured a man and a woman on the cover and the date on the back of the cd said 1988. Has anyone heard anything by them? I noticed there was a song called "Grazin In The Grass" which I assume was a remake. Are they pop? freestyle? house?

I don't know the duo in question but "Grazin' In The Grass" was originally done by The Friends Of Distinction back in the late 60s. I assume this is the same song. It's been covered by lots of different artists.

Hi K-Bee, Masekela's version was big, Big, BIG over here. Number one on the charts in 1968. The man can play that horn. I think you'll like this. The vocal version that the 'Friends' sing was written by their founder and group member, Harry Elston. And, sorry, nrg, I've never heard of cc:Diva. Can't even find a description on the net.

A actual JAZZ track by George Howard, Efunk?  You know I'm very picky about the smooth jazz stuff: 90 % tedious elevator music - 10% stuff actually worth listening to. but let's not get into that

hey nrgbeat, i noticed that you never got a satisfying answer about this act. despite the cute name, cc:diva never released anything worthwhile. i haven't heard their records since their original release, but my memory of them is that they were forgettable pop-dance junk - i don't think anything they did got much play.

| the cc:diva track is a pop/hi-nrg combination, rather forgettable. their version is around 127 bpm.
