| Just wondering out of interest what is happening with the Disco Top 500 of 2003? I do recall reading something about it going to be up at the beginning of 2004 but no new news about it yet. Just wondering if there's an approximate date when the Top 500 of 2003 will be on the site? Sorry to nag but am dying to see what's gonna chart for 2003. Cheers

| Good question funkydude  It would be interesting to see the new Top 500. I wasn't very convinced with the results of the current one...we've all talked about it before. Anyway I'm sure the new one will hold some surprises. Voyage :P |

| A new Top 500 will appear a little later this year (Spring 2004?). Just need to clarify something regarding the Top 500; it is not a yearly affair as it is a major undertaking. In fact the upcoming Top 500 will probably be the last one as the results aren't going to change radically and it is labor intensive. I'll let everyone know when it is ready. Thanks to everyone for submitting your votes!

| Well, all I can say is I am trying to buy all of the top 500, bar some of the dodgy entries. For instance, 1985s Phylis Hyman and Madonna is not really a disco year, its pop and dance. Disco classics like "Space Bass" by Slick, "Shake Your Groove Thing" by Peaches and Herb, and Isley Brothers "Its A Disco Night Rock Don't Stop" were nowhere to be seen while Michael Jacksons "Billie Jean - a classic, but defiently not disco- took their places. I don't consider songs to be disco after 1984, thats just my personal opinion. I have to import heaps of the entries as I am in Australia and am happy to. But though I admire the list, judging by some of the obscure stuff people get off on on the forums, I don't think the aforementioned entries would be on many of their lists. |
