Default Disco Kids?

Kids singing and/or peforming disco songs is not something i know much about (not that I actually wanna listen that much to it  ). I can't even name one single example of it.

Can you?

Sorry to disappoint you, K-Bee, but I have a single on Magic Touch Disco records called 'Chicago', which is sung by a bunch of kids. It's around somewhere...I actually quite liked the music.

France Joli
Stacy Lattisaw
Evelyn King (believe she was around 16 when she released "Shame")
Meco (the entire B side of "Star Wars" was a recording of a bunch of kids that Meco discovered in Central Park, NYC)

The Sylvers lead singer on Boogie Fever sounded like a little chipmunk... not sure how old he was during that time tho.

Baby's Gang had some italo disco hits in the early 80s.

Not necesarraly kids perfoming but on Gary Low's "You're A Danger" there's a kiddie chorus.

7 replies in 4 hours....OMG this is way more than I expected.

Funny how I could forget about both Sylvers and Stacy Lattisaw. I have plenty of stuff by these artists.

it's true Sylvers were just a bunch of kids when they released their debut album "Showcase" in 1976. Foster Sylvers was only 13.

They also had the biggest afroes ever to grace an album cover.

The picture cover may have little connection to the content of the record, but the young man depicted on Eddy Rosemond's 'Funk It' (1979) looks about 12.

K-Bee mentioned the Sylvers LP Showcase been released in 76. I have an LP called Sylvers II on Pride/MGM from 73, they also have big afro hairstyles on the sleeve (I presume it must be the same group!)
Does anybody know if there is a Sylvers I release prior to this on Pride/MGM, or any other label?

Mark

Yes, there's a first LP and a "Sylvers III", with 'What's It All About', a bit of a 'rare groove' at one point. Don't forget the two Foster Sylvers LPs.

'Handle It' from "Sylvers II" is the killer.

hmmm..I always thought "Showcase" was their debut album. Kinda got that impression from the liner notes on the cover.
Maybe the label (Capitol) and Larkin Arnold thought so too!!??
