Default Them Changes by Perpall

In my neverending project of researching and cataloguing my disco records I came across an old 12" entitled Them Changes by an artist called Perpall. It was on a local label called Solo out of Montreal,Canada.Year 1978.It was recorded on multicolored vinyl and was a disco treatment of the classic funk blues number of the Buddy Miles hit Them Changes.I found it to be quite good especially the instrumental side. I knew liitle of this artist or recording and have never seen this record or artist discussed here.I had originally received it as a disco promo back in 1978 I did a search to come up with some info.My search led me to a music artist out of Quebec by the name of Pierre Perpall. So I e-mailed him to verify if he was one and the same. Here was his reply.

"yes i am the artist that sang on them changes i have 3 copies left unopened 12 inch , and i am also purple flash the artist that recorded (we can make it ) back in 1984 , there is a lot of demand for (we can make it )world wide this year i have sold through internet... when they found me ......i sold all my balance of copies of the original printing i have 4 copies left unopened,, i have sold these copies in 14 countries i was very impressed by the demand ,, i guess d,j, s must talk beetween themselves on the internet , other 12 inches i have recorded in the late 70,s and 80,s are pluton and the humanoids (world invaders) AND I HAVE A ALBUM OF THE GREATEST DANCE -DISCO HITS OF THAT ERA... the band behind the( them changes) track is the black light orchestra they are the same band that did the tracks for (love is in the air ) by martin stevens wich was on c.b.s. records (sony) "

So now I know and if you wish to add another piece of disco history to your collections I'd recommend this one.Good sound quality and instrumentation.

Thanks, bigm. And thanks for sharing all the info on this guy. Purple Flash was always a mystery to me. Now I know who he/they were. :)
