Can anyone think of any disco/dance songs with a "shuffle" beat. I can't really explain the beat, it's kind of a reggae related beat...anyway the songs I'm thinking of are: Dancing The Night Away - Voggue Chain Reaction - Diana Ross Give Me Just A Little More Time - Angela Clemmons Master Blaster - Stevie Wonder Does this make any sense???

| Hmmm, I always thought the term "shuffle beat" referred to slower tempos like Soul II Soul's "Back To Life". Ya know, 90-100 BPM type stuff. But that was just my interpretation of the term.

Hi John. I really liked your mix. Looking forward to future editions. Maybe you're thinking of Carl Carlton's remake of "Baby I Need Your Lovin'" on RCA circa 1983?

What about these tracks: * Stock Aitken Waterman: ROADBLOCK (rare groove mix) * Sly and Robbie: Boops / Dont stop the music * June lodge and prince Mohammed: someone loves you honey 12" disco version * Monyaka : go deh yaka (go to the top) I really love these slow-disco-reggae songs! I play them reguraly on parties at the late hours when everybody is already worn out, but still wants to dance. A nice slow vibe! Does anyone know more of these simular style of tracks?

Thanks Mark for the help on Carl Carlton, you're absolutely correct, that's the version I was reffering to. And I can't believe I forgot to mention "Nobody Knows", by Nick & Val. I loved that record. Thanks to Nicky for that one.

Biddu Orchestra's SOUL COAXING is the perfect discofication of the standard and definitely one of the highest leaps in the context of the Biddu oeuvre. The record shuffles, adds dramatic piano chords and chanting girls of course. This track was never on any of his albums, only out on picture sleeve 7" and 12" on Epic label in 1977.
