Gee, Thanks KB! That Shakatak tune is a real gem. Light, jazzy, early 80's funk. I love it!

I was starting to think that no one gives a damn about my Top 10 posts. I really do list tunes that I love and that I think that others on here will enjoy but I think my taste might be a little too soulful for this crowd. LOL. I'm glad someone's actually heard of and enjoyed something I've mentioned.

I love Shakatak & they're still producing great LPs today. Unfortunately they are often seen as a bit of a joke by the snobby soul/jazz crowd in the UK, but I never give a damn about those people anyway :P . Along with Dead Or Alive, Shakatak are megastars in Japan apparently. The Japanese have such fab taste I always think.

Steely: I ain't no Soul snob. I just thought most of their stuff was rather limp.
'Dem was not jazz, not funky and not soulful. 'Dem was just plain smaltzy apart from 'de odd track wid some riddum.
There, my attempt at sounding black is about as convincing as most of their stuff. However, they were very popular and I did play quite a few of their tracks.
Elevator music never sounded as saccharine sweet.
