Manhatten Skyline - Jump Street Band

All Music Guide must have had quite a few hits by now.
How's about (Steely as you're a Brit)
The Glitter Band - New York Groove which was considered Disco at the time.

Just a little story that may interest you.
When I worked in Mallorca, the guy I worked for was related to Mike Leander, producer of Gary Glitter and the Glitter Band recordings. The Band and Mike used to come to Mallorca for their summer holidays, with members of the Glitter Band being fairly regular punters at the discotheque where I DJ'd. One night, unbeknown to me, this guy was studying my every move as I DJ'd and my boss told me he'd take over for a few minutes 'cos Mike Leander would like to talk to me to discuss what was happening on the disco scene. All in all we talked for about 10 minutes and voila, so far as I remember a certain Makes You Blind was released (a definite change of direction for them, no?). I often wondered if our talk had any influence on that release 'cos although we saw each other again, I never got to actually discuss that record with him. I never palyed the track myself, so I had no way of knowing what it was like and hey, in the ever changing world of Disco it was already ancient history, by the time our paths crossed again.

"Miss Manhattan" by Metropol, a jazzy Italian realese from 1978. Miss Amanda Lear also took a walk on the wild side through the nighttime side streets, alleys and docks of New York on her brilliant Incognito album.

Meco's "Meco's Theme/3 W. 57" because on the back cover I see "1978 A.D. New York City. Atop the Millenium Building, where I can hear the sounds of the city drifting upward".
Walther Murphy's "New York Suite". Jazz+latin hustle. It's not my WM's fave.

First really "DISCO" track I come up with, Nuggets - New York, nice track that sounds like Revanche.

Ok without digging through my entire collection to find the two I thought of:
"Angel Man" About NYC Guardian Angels, I cannot remember her name. I have it somewhere.

"Stranger in New York" Sung by John Rocca the guy that sang with Freeze. Maybe B side to "I want it to be real"

I'm activating brain cells that have been dormant for 20 + years.

Did anyone mention "Boogie down Bronx" Mann Parrish

This is Rhetta Hughes "Angel Man" on Aria Records. This record had a big buzz in New York at the time. Will add this one to the Vault real soon.

Sorry about the Ace Freely song, it was, "Back In The New York Groove."

I must have had something else on my mind. BJ Thomas did a slow song in the late sixties called, "New York State Of Mind."
