| Well, a few times I've posted a topic about the lyrics to ROD's "Shake It Up Do The Boogaloo". Got no responce(LOL go figure). My question now of this guy is how many albums does he have? I know of 2. The infamous "Shake It Up" LP on Prelude(1980) and another LP with the track "Just Keep On Walking" (1982). I have the white label promo 45 for "...Walking" which is how I know the year. I know there is more than that because I have his way way out of print "Greatest Hits" CD(wasn't aware of hits, but....) and there are a few High Energy/Freestyle tracks on there. So, can anyone give me info on this guy and maybe some kind of a bio or something? Me and my girlfriend spent 1 hr plus the other night trying to decode the lyrics to "Shake It Up" and almost made some sense out of it. I'd like to get hold of all this guy's work. He is very very rare stuff in my mind and plus, there is a few good soul/funk tracks he's done that I've heard. Jimmy M

| I'm doing big time research on this one and when I find out more, I'll provide it in full details. Here's what I've come up with for the moment: Rod is a guitarist. He's from Africa. Rod only recorded two, solo LP's but played on many, other compilations. Solo LP's include on Prelude's Shake It Up (Do The Boogaloo) Released in 1980 and Glue Factory - Story Changes Every Day in 2000. 12" Singles - Shake it Up (Do the Boogaloo) Released in 1980 Just Keep on Walking Released in 1982. I sent two emails this morning, one to member of his production team, for whom he's a musician with their orchestra. Also, I sent an email to the publishing company associated with his first single. I requested for information pertaining to Rod's biography and discography. Hopefully, I receive a response from either party and provide you with further information ASAP. [ This Message was edited by: The Lord of Flatbush on 2002-04-11 08:31 ] |

| I don't think Rod was all that rare, at least not in Holland where "Shake it up" was a reasonable top 40 hit (I can give you hit listings if you are interested). I also believe that he was big in France.
