Brand new here; found the site through a search for rare disco vinyl. I've been introducing myself to my husband's vinyl collection - thousands of bloody GREAT tunes..have been making videos on youtube as well to share the music...and the experience of listening to vinyl. Disco lives on, yah!? I haven't been here more than 10 minutes so I may continue to lurk for a while...and may end up looking to buy some vinyl. Selling is not an option!!!

Take care, keep dancin'!

ps - was looking forward to going to the Trocadero party this year in San Francisco but no vacation time left. Boooo.

FINALLY got around to joining. I LOVE this site and have been checking it out for a while. I live in Philly and hope to find people playing disco on this coast. I was living in Chicago, and disco never died there. I DJed disco and funk in Chicago and once my records are out here I hope to play out here some.

Thanks everyone for being on this site, I've learned a lot!!!!

can you take me there???
will i ever find a place i'm my city to hear a whole session of disco music??? and i mean DISCO not others

I still have some hope...in the 90s there was a funk revival and now some funk is gettin more and more played in "black music" sessions....now there are some places where they play some rockabilly and Northern Soul!!! just like before!!! and people wears clothes like in the 60s!!!! if all this thing keep goin all together with that "neo-disco" (i still have to find what this exactly means) thing...don't you think there will be a new disco revival era????
(oh yes! that's what i'd like)

THANK YOU again

I've been reading (aka lurking) for several years now. I've posted a few times, but really mostly enjoy reading the forums. I actually remember when Bernie used to post user's (audio) disco mixes - I sent him one and he posted it a Loooong lime ago... 2001 maybe?

I still like to read the forums now and then and see if any of the oldsters are around - I still see that onery Quinny is posting! Luv ya man!

Talking Re: Lurkers To This Forum, Please Introduce Yourself

Hi,

My name is Ben, otherwise known as DJ Benny B from Brooklyn NY. I'm basically a newjack when it comes to disco. I've been listening on and off for about 7 years, but seriously collecting for only 5. I dj in NYC and often weave disco and soul songs into my sets.

I'm most interested in early 80's disco and stuff that has a Patrick Adams/ Leroy Burgess sound to it. I'm excited to find this forum and look forward to learning with all of you. Thanks!

I'm Javier from Spain. I have been visiting this great site and forum for some time and finally decided to register. Disco has been my kind of music since the late 70s!

Some may know me from the Donna Summer forum, I also know Eva (wever) from fotolog.

Hola to everybody!
