Default Dan Hartman - Relight my fire 10 minute rmx??

HEY!
i heard this really funky long run mix of Dan Hartman's "Relight My Fire", it was over 10 minutes!!!
What remix is this? It's not the 12 inch version (6 minutes) & not "Hottracks rmx" (8 minutes), i know.

I gotta have it!!! Please help.

if it had a really long intro before relight... kicked in then it was probably vertigo/relight my fire, which was on the original Blue Sky 12 (rereleased on the disco blueprints compilation i think). Otherwise it could be 'Somewhere Beyond'/'Let's Get Horny' by Hi Voltage on BC, which was one of Began Cekic's cover versions, mixed with Beyond The Clouds by Quartz

Best place to get it as far as I can tell is the "Classic Disco Mastercuts Volume 1" compilation, which I bought on the day of its release back in 1995! It's still about in UK record stores and Amazon, and linked from Bernie's recommended CDs.

The CD "Dan Hartman - Keep The Fire Burnin'" (Columbia 1994) is included a 11:51 minute version from "Vertigo/Relight My Fire" (Mixed by John Luongo & Michael Barbiero).

I used to have a Blue Sky promo 12" which was labelled the 'Progressive Version'/or 'Mix'. Maybe this is the one? I can't remember if the standard 12" has this tag.

Is "Somewhere Beyond'/'Let's Get Horny" by Hi Voltage available on CD? I used to love this song but never knew the title or artist until this thread.

I have a white label of the Progressive Instrumental Mix and it is basically a dubbish instrumental that clocks in at 11:22. Very nice and worth seeking out.

So Bernie, can you recall if this mix is exclusive to the promo? I know I have an issue copy somewhere, but I'm not sure why I let the promo go - maybe I thought they were the same. If it's worth investigating (again), I'll do so.

There are 2 12" of this classic:

BLUE SKY white label AS 731 (progressive instrumental remix) : in my opinion, one of the masterpieces of disco (by John Luongo and Michael barbiero)

BLUE SKY (Dance music series) black and grey label 4Z8-2790: this is the commercial release that came out some time later and includes the album version (9:44) and the progressive instrumental remix (11:22)

You will find the progressive instrumental mix on the compilation CD 'Disco Blueprints' on the X-treme label if you want it on CD; it's an excellent comp., featuring such as 'Pipeline' - Bruce Johnston, 'Lets Lovedance Tonight' - Garys Gang & 'Get Another Love' - Chantal Curtis. Disco Heaven!!!!

Steely,

This is one of the few CDs I dont have. Would you mind adding the Blueprints CD/tracklisting to the CD section and e-mailing a scan of the cover? If you can it would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Add CD here.

Taking my own advice to add items to the database, I've just added the Dan Hartman track/mix we are discussing. It's at...

Dan Hartman - Vertigo / Relight My Fire - Progressive Instrumental Mix

Dan Hartman - Vertigo / Relight My Fire - Regular 12" Mix
