I'd love to be listening to that record now. Does anyone know if it's ever made it to CD?
Hi Greg,

Check this out:

Amazon sellers seem to have a few copies around. Not bad prices either, but you being overseas could be a problem with shipping cost.

Well thanks guys for all the feedback!!!! :D

I'm really liking all 4 tapes--(#3 is my personal fave--could it have something to do with "Make Me Believe In You"???)

The Faith, Hope & Charity cuts are real forgotten gems also.

They're off the LP with "To Each his Own" ---and the minute I played this LP--memories flooded over me of hearing them in a club setting. Check them out.

Oh, and Discodisc...

regarding "24 Hours a Day"---Mr. Graham did a little custom CD 12" for me. (Bless him.) Check with him to see if he kept a master. It sounds perfect to my ears.

I assume this tape was not a mass production but was dubbed by you. If so, are you interested in a trade?

MARKY/GRAHAM yes i thought that was it! i bet GRAHAM did one for yourself too,i know youre a secret long version fan  yes i know what your saying though, but that long intro with the strings that really got inside your brains in a club :P i still think this has never been released on c.d and it probibly wont happen this side of the water,as massive in this country as it was its all but forgotten now,a couple of years ago i was speaking to goldmine label owner who was just about to release 'ian levines northern soul memories vol 1' hed just compiled with ian,i asked him were the 12"versions of 24 hours a day and baby im sill the same man-james wells on there and he went ermmm...i dont remember them coming out on 12"!!! thats like tom moulton putting out a c.d of his stuff and leaving out his best mix.
anyone remember 24 hours a day re-mixed in 92 or the GREAT new version also from 92 by nomad?

Marky: I hardly know half of the stuff, but knowing we have some similar taste certainly I'd like to hear some of those, like Creative Source's take on "Who is he and what is he to you", etc.
I see you put Johnny Mathis' version of "Life is a song worth singing". I got the LP some time ago and also a MP3 version of the single version. Ain't that a great track! Unfairly obscured by the Teddy Pendergrass version... I know we already talked about this, but I don't care... There's still some gospel to write about that one

Yeah, Nano... the Thom Bell section (side 2 of tape #2) is real nice. Johnny's "Life Is A Song Worth Singing" into Dionne's "Once You Hit The Road" into Dionne & The Spinners' "Then Came You". Thom Bell orchestrated like no one else. It is such a distinctive sound--he makes great use of strings and the minute you hear one of his songs--you know it's him. Burt Bacharach is the only other guy I can think of who had such a distintive sound. Bacharach's use of French horns and muted trumpets is soooo instantly recognizable. Bell's sound is more strings and electric piano, I'd say.

Now Mark, I've told you this before, you need to get yourself a stand alone CD burner (since your home computer died)!

Hi Mark

As you (rightfully) seem to like Helplessly so much, have you heard the version by Wayne Miranda on Rocky? The vocals aren't great, but the instrumental version has an amazing string breakdown that always gets the goosebumps going
