| I'm listening to the 10:23 version of "LH" from the 2nd CD of the deluxe edition of "Diana". My question is where did those backing vocals ("I don't want want want no cure cure cure for this love hangover") come from? Were these from the original sessions? Did some DJ have these added on? They seem so instrinsic that I'd assume they are from the original sessions--but did the producer give them to the Disconet remixer...and who was that person who got the credit for this release on Disconet Volume 2, number 9, 1979? An arrangement credit is given to David Blumberg and Clay Drayton. Were they the remixers???? Anyone know the answer???? :o

| The Disconet version, which is pretty poor quality, is part of a Supremes segue by Bobby Guttadaro. I am aware of (and have heard first hand) two separate multi-tracks, neither of which have the extra chants, or the 'YEAH' she shouts as the slow intro ends. Is this CD version decent sounding? Is it actually the Disconet version?

| Nicky commented on the CD version being harsh, over-eq'd & having 'volume shifts' on the thread about Diana's CD a couple of weeks ago. I agree with him that the quality is a bit iffy but it's interesting to hear a different version as I never heard the disconet version when it came out as I've never been a DJ.( pity 'cos I can't think of a better way to earn a living, other than prostitution!! :o )

| The Disconet was bootlegged a couple of times on a yellow labelled RS/JVS 12", but the quality was really bad. The proper 12" is not quite so shoddy, but certainly very flat, muddy and even slightly out-of-phase (it was rumoured to have been mastered from a cassette as Guttadaro had some problems with Motown - I don't know if this is so). Any attempt to rescue the sound was always going to sound overcooked. Can't wait to hear it on CD, though!

| I was always under the impression that this was one of those remixes where the artist participated as in additional vocals, hence the back up singers and that fabulous chant, however I may be wrong. Maybe Nicky can give us more details about since he knew Bobby. Art |

| Wish I had more to add guys but I don't. Bobby never told or I should say he never told me how he came to have that cassette. Forrrce is right about that and the fact that Motown was unhappy that he did have it. For whatever reasons, they didn't want that take to be heard. Bobby also didn't confirm or deny that Diana was high as a kyte at the time of the recording. I think I said before that lots of rumors were flying around about the mix. I also have that bootleg on the RS/JVS label. That's the one I was talking about where the second 'break' is longer than what's on the CD. Doesn't matter though since the quality sucks. Forrrce, I'm sure you'll be happy with the CD version. Compared to what's been available before it's like night and day. |

| wow, just heard this version for the first time, and it rocks!, wished I knew of this boot mix back then, the Cd quality is not bad, some of the other cuts in the cd don't sound any better. |

I'd missed all along that the Disconet is only around 6 or 7 minutes on the 12" medley and this new version's 10:00 - but it's exactly the same mix - so there was obviously a good (by comparison) source recording which could have been used originally.

| May I suggest checking out the Motown Love Hangover '98 remixes if you can find them.I have them on 12" promo vinyl and don't know if they ever made it commercially or to CD but they are kick ass house versions of this classic tune by Diana Ross.Excellent sound dynamics with lots of punch. The promo version has 5 mixes on it The "Dance mix","12 " version", "Extended Single Version","Urban Remix" and "Urban Dub". Remix credits to Phil Harding,Ian Curnow and Tony King.

| I have to disagree with you originalbigm about those house mixes from '88 (not '98) of 'Love Hangover' as I think they are dreadful & ruin a classice track IMO. I usually like Harding & Curnow remixes (they mixed many SAW productions) but not this one I'm afraid.

What specifically .Sorry about the typo it was 88.Personally I thought it was a good reworking of the song in a house style.Soundwise it was excellent but to each his own.

| I love many house reworkings of disco records such 'Jack Le Freak' 'Love Cant Turn Around' but this particular remake was bad IMO, but thats only my opinion & I respect yours originalbigm.

| I'm with Steely here. I picked this up way back when expecting a lot. I was really disappointed in the house versions. They added little to nothing to the song. |
