Default Donna Summer gone country?

Picked this up of a Yahoo bio on Donna Summer

"Summer still has her devoted followers and tends to be underrated by many as a singer due to her association with a particular genre of music--a genre she long ago outgrew. Her latest recordings have been in a country vein, and her successful adaption to that style is proof that she's a singer, not a fad."

Can anyone enlighten me ? Has she gone country?

I recall a recent interview with LaDonna where she said she now lives in Nashville so it seems likely that she would go in the c & w direction; nothing surprises me anymore, the world has just gone bizarre hasn't it?! :( Why can't we go back to 1979 forever!! :P

I remember seeing a clip of Donna singing something in cowboy hat and full country get up. This was ages ago, during that transition from Disco to "Wanderer" to whatever. Maybe country isn't as new for her as we think.

Supposedly, the three new tracks from her latest "Greatest Hits" package (due later this month) are dance - and, allegedly, two of the three were produced by Giorgio Moroder...

Yeah and Giorgio is absolutely on fire at the moment. The stuff he is doing now is far better and more inventive than anything he did in the 70's. I've heard on the grapevine this LP will include a cover of Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" produced by GM - I predict this will be surpass "I Feel Love/Could it be Magic/Unconditional Love"! (well maybe not the latter)

 Dance - Disco - Country It seems that Donna really can't decide on which direction to take these days.

To further confuse things, she also made an unlikely appearence about a year ago on the latest album by Glenn Jones, peforming a duet with him.

"The Gambler" is not listed on the CD - the three new songs are:

"That's The Way" (Giorgio)
"I Will Live For Love" (Giorgio)
"You're So Beautiful" (Tony Moran)

The rest are the usual "greatest hits".

Giorgio's remix of Blondie's "Good Boys" is excellent - I hope that he and Donna recaptured the magic...

Donna goes country! Well, I'm not that suprised either. Nevertheless it doesn't mean that she is out of the dance scene. Remember the huge hits of LeeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain...

Can somebody give more information about Giorgios new stuff?
