Default Xanadu and Disco Musicals

I was talking about this the movie Xanadu and its soundtrack. I don't think it could really be called disco--that is, the songs "Magic" and "Xanadu" or "I'm Alive" just are not disco. So why do you think this film is lumped in with disco?

I personally love it, along with "Can't Stop the Music." I've heard that "The Apple" is kind of a "disco musical." Has anyone seen this and care to give their thoughts.

Any other good "disco musicals" out there I am unaware of?

It isn't disco by any measure. It's just lame. I guess people like to lump lame things in with disco to help perpetuate the myth that it all sucks.

I was unaware that there were any good disco musicals at all. Mind you, I also think that "Can't Stop The Music" is single-handedly the worst movie ever made, and this is coming from someone who hosts Bad Movie Night events. I literally can't watch more than 15 minutes without wanting to scream in anguish or toss something at the screen.

I had that 'Apple' soundtrack once and it was rotten to the core!
