Default Calibre label

I only know

"Feels Like I'm In Love" by Kelly Marie. I visited the 'Kelly Marie fan page' and I discovered she often makes gigs at the Revenge Club, the most popular gay club in UK.

"In The Forest" by Baby'O. I visited the 'DJ Paulette web site' and I discovered she likes Baby'O 's "In the Forest".

Calibre was a subsidiary of PRT, which itself emergered out of the ashes of the Pye label. If memory serves, the whole switch happened around 1979.

Excaliber was another PRT disco offshoot from around the same period - and both ran 'til around the mid '80s.

Some Calibre signings and licensings I can think of:

Tony Rallo & The Midnite Band (sub-Bee Gees hit, 'Holdin' On')
Freeez
Stop ('I Can Feel It' and 'Iuwata')
Newcleus
Zena Dejonay
The Real Thing
Kadenza
Edwin Starr
Robert Wright ('Hold Me Tight' from 1985, licensed from Paris Records, US - a real breath of fresh air :D )

There's a few more but I'm blanking out...

Lets not forget the dreadful Calibre Cuts medley, which consisted of little snippets of their various releases clumsely edited together. Kind of like a poor version of the West End Megamix.

The guy who started Calibre (Dave something, I think) left the label on bad terms and started up Ex-Calibre - as a dig at his ex employers

If DJ Paulette is into them, then so am I!
