I was going through some old Billboard Magazines in the library the other day and almost every one had an article about the Buffalo club scene.

Was Buffalo considered a disco hot spot at the time? I'm surprised considering it wasn't a big city like NYC, Los Angeles, etc.

We had the very first television show dedicated to disco... Disco Step-by-Step (tm)

and also .. one of the first disco radio shows in the country .. as well as one of the first disco record pools.

I was a Billboard correspondent and sent in weekly playlists and also fed news on the club scene, tv and radio show playlists, and record pool info. and playlists.

I was also in the first NY Record Pool and International Disco Record Pool (along with a couple other Buffalo Disco Djs) ... which also played in establishing Buffalo as a disco mecca.

Buffalo also attracted a lot of people from Toronto and surrounding Canadian cities ...

Buffalo also is the home of the World's Largest Disco ... which started back in the 1979 and STILL happens to this day.

The Guiness Book of World Records confirms that the first crowd of 13,000 makes it the largest disco event of all time.

ALSO ... the lendendary Dj John Ceglia is from Buffalo who made it in the bigtime in NYC. He also brought Buffalo into the limelight as well as Charlie Capt. Disco Anzalone. He was a national disco pioneer.
