Default Brass Construction

Somehow, I missed "Movin'" during its heyday in the disco years. I've come to know it through mentions on this forum, and really love the song. I've bought several Cds and find that less than five minutes is just not enough. Does anyone know of a CD that contains the long version I've read about?

That's an easy one:

Brass Construction - Golden Classics Collectables 5239
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...rniesdiscomusi

Brass Construction - Movin' & Changin' ERG/EMI 8 27591 2

Most other compilations can't fit the 8:39 of pure funk.

Brass Construction fans will probably not agree but you should check out 400 Blows' cover version of 'Movin' as I think it's brilliant & alot slicker than the original.

Oh Steely, how right you are. I loved the cover version by 400 Blows, which brought the old warhorse bang up to date in '84? It was so incredibly hard compared to the original. Hats off to the original and this cover, both of which kicked butt!!

Wow, I can't believe you agree with me Quinny! The fact that i love this track is unusual too, as i never usually like cover versions of disco/funk tracks. The only cover versions i tend to like are disco-fied versions of rock songs or show tunes i.e.Linda Clifford's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.

Also check out the 24 bit remastered "Classic Masters Brass Constuction" available most anywhere. I bought mine at Bestbuy. Oh... Movin' does clock in at 8:40 on that cd.
