Default DJ's --- Step Up and Be Counted

Come on Guys and Girls,

Bernie only has 8 names (and one is mine  ) on the list in his thread asking who is/was a disco dj. I know you're out there, don't be shy. Where's:

DJ JIMMY M
DJ PHILIP ESPARZA
ADA1984
BLAXMAN
BOODIKKA (The only Goddess)
DISCO1999
JAZZ_PILGRIM
SAMMYPEREZ

JUSSIK
MAARTEN
MARCODJ
MASDEFI
MIXMACHINE
PETERC (Our new friend and hustle master :) )
QUINNY
SFBEARY
WUAKEEN
ZECA AZEVEDO

And all of you that I probably missed. Get your butts movin', fingers typin' and list yourselves in Bernie's thread. Can't miss it --- you're in the forum right now. Look for HOW MANY FORUM MEMBERS ARE/WERE DISCO DJ's. "It Only Takes a Minute", y'all... :D

But I don't really quality as a bona fide DJ, NickNack. I was a regular club goer and an occasional DJ. I DJed at University at the Uni discos (unpaid - for the love of it).

In the summer of 1984, three of us pooled our record collections together and for four months we DJed at a small club (Smiles) in our home town every other Wednesday! Not quite Studio 54! :P

Oh yeah - and I used to help my mobile DJ friend lugging speakers and equipment around at 2am in the morning.

Hmm, I don't think I qualify for Bernie's thread!!

But I had a great deal of fun doing all this - and that for me was what it was all about. :)

Hey Nick Nack,

Havent been in the forum in a while, e_funk contacted me about this. I checked out Bernie's thread and I don't exactly qualify either as I've only spun club wise one for a very short time. I did retro disco (but i played the real stuff of corse lol) at a gay club in the Phoenix area for a few months. They no longer do disco there...so there went that  I've done a few private parties as well spinning current stuff in the early to mid 90s when I was starting out but thats about it unfortunatly for live spinning. Of corse I do the "Disco Extravaganza" internet program still on a monthly basis now as well as re-edits and extended remixes in the classic style of disco (all avalible for download on the soulseek network and wherever else they floating around or purchace through my business lol). But I don't think im what Bernie was lookin for. But thanks for acnowlagment (dunno if i spelled that right lol).

Keep On Dancin'
DJ Jimmy M

Hey, NickNack...
18 years and over half my life into it, I still haven't managed to make a career out of spinning. Pilloried for playing disco by the 'hipper contingent', it's now all every sucker plays! Gigs down to a handful a year...does this count???!!! :o

Well, maybe after Bernie reads these we'll find out. Damn, 18 years demonstrates a lot of love and devotion.

...I'd be lying if I said I DJed constantly, which I didn't, but you get my drift about the career thing!

Default Mere wannabe

I've been looking for chances to play out for few months now. I'm a wannabe dj from bedroom

I have had 2 pure disco gigs two years ago. Besides that I've been in to disco since 1978 when I bought my 1st album. Got very involved with disco again about three years ago and been hunting down disco vinyl ever since. I play new songs as well, but my main interest is in the disco era.

It pisses me off how hard it is to get anyone interested in a newcomer dj
