A friend of mine played the 12" version of Diana's "Chain Reaction" for me the other day and I was in Heaven!

It sounded like something from 1968 put to a lush orchestral disco melody and beat. I forgot how much I loved that song!

Now here's the kicker: It's from 1985 (!!!) and we all know I thought disco ended in 1979. Well, so much for that! And to top it off, the Bee Gees wrote it, damn them!

My friend ripped it from KAZAA. Does anyone know where I can get the long version on CD?

"Chain Reaction" was a #1 hit in England and was played in the clubs here..but essentially sorta bombed as a pop record. Too bad, cause this was a fantastic tune.

The short LP version of this tune is on a bunch of compilations...the "Diana Extended:The Remixes" has a remixed "House" version of the tune.

The only CD I see on allmusic that MAY have the original 12" mix is a compilation called "The 1988 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras" ; it was released in 1998 and is supposedly in print.

The other cuts on this compilation seem to be the original long versions...maybe there's a sample at some of the on-line music sellers????
