| Every now and then I see a Tina Turner LP LOVE EXPLOSION with producer credits of Alec R. Costandinos. Yesterday I even saw it on CD. As those offers are always very cheap I wonder if it is any good.... What does it sound like ? Karl |

| Tina's voice is wrong for the material - for Costandinos or Tina completists only. Others better save their money. |

| It is a solid album(I am a die hard Alec fan by the way). Only released overseas, the LP is..well..picture the "Winds Of Change" sound with the regular backing vocals of The Birds Of Paris with Tina's vocals. It don't match but, it's a rare Costandinos classic. The one track that does fit the 2 of them is "Just A Little Lovin". A soulful ballad with Alec on backing vocals and Tina on lead. The music kinda sounds like "Benniditte" with soul. I'd say to pick it up if your an Alec fan. If your a Tina fan, don't. I payed 30.00 for a sealed copy of the German import LP. Jimmy M

That description is dead-on. Unfortunately, "Winds..." was Alec & Knehnetsky's weakest effort. Tina is excellent! Her vocals are superb. But the material backing her is weak as dishwater. Even the remake of The O'Jays' "Backstabbers" sounds like a throwaway track. (Which really dissappointed me.) Reading the credits, this should be an amazing LP. The entire IBIS crew is on it. Down to Vicki Brown, Stephanie de Sykes, Peter Kelsey, Pat Halling's Strings...everybody. Even the writers (Alec didn't write anything for it) are a serious who's-who of pop music. The title track has possibilities. But, by the end of the break, it loses your attention. I really wanted to like it, but... I really tried to like it, but... I'll reiterate: If you're a die-hard Alec, or Tina fan, get it, when you see it at a reasonable price. I paid $25.00 for a mint German copy, on Ariola. As a collector, I'm okay with that. Although, the cover shots are fabulous!
