USA-European Connection, AKA Boris Midney: There's A Way Into My Heart. Love the mantra-like chord progressions and slight jazzy touch on this one. The best part is the largely instrumental second half. This song didn't catch me initially, but it's really grown on me.

"Supernatural Love" by Donna Summer. It's a Stock/Aiken/Wateman production and for whatever reason it is really sounding good to me now. Love the Phil Harding remix though I wish he'd held that ending just a little bit longer.

12" version of 'My Man Is On His Way' by Retta Young is doing it for me at the moment. Quality, uptempo disco-soul. Doing a gig-ette in the centre of town in an hour or so - can't wait to send 'em to the bar with this!

Graham,

Have you ever heard the Disconet version of this? It's part of a 3-song medley, "I'd Like to Get Closer/Do It Good/There's a Way...". Really nice. The instrumental part of TAWIMH is used as a "club break" after the first two before going into the body of the song. The entire medley begins with a loop: "Closer and closer and closer and closer and closer and closer and..." and ends with two: "There's a way... into my heart" is repeated sweetly over a loop of "Find it" hitting every 1st beat of the 4/4. I guess the dj in me loved these sections for mixing.

Can't say I've heard anything remixed by Disconet. Sounds interesting, though.

Disco wise this week I'm going with James Brown and "Sex Machine".

But the track that is really doing the business for me this week is on the soul side - Billy Preston and "That's The Way God Planned It" 8)

Fred Wesley - House Party - not what you'd associate with brother Fred at all and
MSO - Columbia. - One of the very few disco records where the musuos play as if they mean it. This makes me wanna tear the place up. Know what I mean.

My weekly program is easy to love:

1) "Feel So Real" by Patrice Rushen
2) "Jungle DJ" by Kikrokos
3) "Lookin' For Love Tonight" by Fat Larrys Band
4) "What Am I Gonna Do With You" by Barry White

Yeah, in the light of the tragic event I guess it's gonna be all Barry this week.

I'll be playing "It's Extasy When You Lay Down Next To Me" and "Bayou" (LUO) till I drop....just to honour the man.

I've been in a ballad mood as of late...

Debarge - I Like It
Patti Labelle - If Only You Knew
Linda Jones - Hypnotized
McCrary's - You
